An AMH blood test measures the level of anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) in your blood. AMH is produced by the small, developing follicles in the ovaries, so your level gives an indication of your ovarian reserve: an estimate of the number of eggs remaining in your ovaries.
Unlike some other fertility hormones, AMH stays relatively stable throughout the menstrual cycle, so the test can be taken on any day of your cycle. Our private AMH blood test uses a venous blood sample taken from the arm, and no fasting is required.
