Private Blood Tests UK with Nationwide Clinics & Fast Results

A trained phlebotomist comes to your home, often the next day, or you visit our clinic on the Billericay border from 6am. No GP referral, no hospital car park, and the home visit is included on private tests.

Can't get a hospital blood test appointment?

If the next Swiftqueue slot at Basildon Hospital, St Andrew's in Billericay or Brentwood Community Hospital is weeks away, you don't have to wait. Bring us the form your GP or consultant gave you and we'll take the blood at home, then drive it to the laboratory on the form.

We're a separate, private service, not part of Swiftqueue or the NHS. Your results still go straight back to the doctor who asked for them, so nothing changes on their side.

The price you see includes the person who takes your blood

Plenty of online testing brands sell a cheap-looking test, then add a separate charge for a nurse or clinic to actually take the sample, and you wait for their partner to call you. We don't work that way.

Not sure which test you need?

Start with what's bothering you. A blood test measures markers, it doesn't diagnose on its own, so talk your results through with your GP where needed. Or just ring us on 01277 652067 and we'll help you choose.

Hate needles? You're in the right place.

A lot of our patients come to us because a hospital blood test went badly before. Children, adults who faint, people with tricky veins. We book longer slots for them and don't rush.

  1. Tell us when you book, so we plan extra time.
  2. We can come to your home, where you or your child feel calmer.
  3. You can lie down, look away, or have someone hold your hand.
Amazing service, had my blood taken by Sarah, so quick and convenient. Very professional, also friendly.Mandy, patient

Health MOTs: many checks, one appointment

A single test answers one question. A health MOT looks at lots of markers from the same sample, like cholesterol, blood sugar, liver, kidneys, hormones and vitamins. Good for a yearly check-up.

How it works

Booking online takes a few minutes. Most visits take 10 to 15 minutes.

  1. Pick a test and a time

Choose clinic or home, pick a slot and pay online. Check the test page in case you need to fast.

  2. We take the sample

A DBS-checked phlebotomist takes blood from your arm with single-use equipment and labels every tube in front of you.

  3. Results sent securely

The sample goes to a UKAS-accredited lab the same day. Many results are back within a few days, and each test page tells you the expected time.

Private blood test questions

Can't see yours? Call 01277 652067 or message us on WhatsApp.

Do I need a GP referral for a private blood test?
No. Most private blood tests can be booked directly online or by phone. You choose the test, pay for it and receive the results yourself. If your GP or consultant has already given you a request form, we can take that sample too, and the results go back to them.
How much does a private blood test cost?
It depends on the test. Single tests such as testosterone or vitamin D are listed from around £30 to £40, and health MOTs from £155. Appointments start from £40, the home visit fee is included on private tests, and every price is shown before you pay. A home blood draw for a GP or hospital form costs £40.
How quickly can I get an appointment?
Same-day and next-day appointments are often available. Our clinic opens from 6am on weekdays and on Saturday mornings. If it's urgent, call 01277 652067 so we can check today's slots.
Is Swift Blood Tests the same as Swiftqueue?
No. Swiftqueue is the NHS booking system used by many hospitals and GP surgeries. Swift Blood Tests is an independent private service. If you can't get a Swiftqueue appointment, we can take the blood for your GP or hospital form at home for £40, or you can book a private test with us directly.
Can someone come to my home to take blood?
Yes. Our phlebotomists visit homes and workplaces across Essex, Bromley and Surrey, including Billericay, Basildon, Brentwood, Chelmsford, Thurrock and Maldon. They take a venous sample from your arm, which is different from a postal finger-prick kit, and get it to the laboratory the same day.
I bought a finger-prick kit elsewhere. Can you help?
Yes. If you're struggling with a home kit from another provider, we can take the sample properly for you, at home or in clinic. Message us on WhatsApp on 07308 136364 for a price.
How quickly will I receive my results?
It depends on the test. Many results come back within a few days, some specialist tests take longer, and selected tests offer same-day turnaround. The expected time is on each test page. Private results are sent to you securely; results from GP and hospital forms go to your surgery or consultant.
Do I need to fast before a blood test?
Only for some tests, such as fasting glucose. Some hormones, like testosterone, are best measured in the morning. Each test page lists any preparation, and our 6am weekday opening makes fasting easier.
Can you take blood from children or nervous patients?
Yes. We take blood from children aged 6 and over, with a parent or guardian present, and we specialise in needle-phobic patients. Tell us when you book and we'll allow extra time, in clinic or at home.
Are my results confidential?
Yes. Your details and results are stored securely and shared only with you, or with the clinician named on your request form. We don't share your information with third parties without your consent.
